Draw a parallel line 1¼" from the Life Jacket’s hem.<br /><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Draw a parallel line ¼" from side seam.<br style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px;" /><span style="font-family: "verdana" , "geneva" , sans-serif; font-size: 13.2px;">Extend the side seam in a slight curve from the arm pit to the new side seam line meeting the new hem at a 90</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">°</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> angle. </span>Extend the front line down to the hem, then mark ¼" further over. Draw a line from the marked hem point to the V-neck point and beyond.<br />You can either have a V-neck opening just like the Life Jacket (extend the pattern line until it meets the new front line) or you can have a higher closed jacket by copying the neck line from the back piece.<br />This will be your new left front piece.
